About Weatherford

Located in southeastern Custer County, Weatherford is situated one mile north of Interstate 40 on State Highway 54. The town was incorporated on August 3, 1898, and the population stood at 1,017 in 1900. Banker and civic leader Beeks Erick chose the townsite location.

Weatherford is home to the Stafford Air & Space Museum, which houses several spacecraft, an actual Titan II missile, and other rockets. Weatherford also has The Oklahoma Heartland of America Museum, which opened in 2007.

The City of Weatherford has twelve parks containing over eight hundred acres, including Heritage Park, across from City Hall, which displays a wind turbine blade for close inspection.
